Appearances

Scorch the Dragon!
Paul Thompson and Peter Robinson from Citroen Coventry

From attending school assemblies to visiting local hospitals, from opening fayres to attending corporate events, the Coventry Blaze players play an active role within Coventry and the surrounding areas.

Last season we launched our hugely successful "Cash-Back for schools" scheme (for more information on this scheme, please click on Schools link) and attended assemblies in many schools. This gave hundreds of children the opportunity to come along to a game and helped raise a great deal of money for the schools involved.

By clicking on the sub menu links within this section, you'll be able to find out where the Blaze are appearing, information on some past events, information on how to take part in our schools programme and dates and venues of forthcoming signing sessions.

For news on past events please check out the 'Community Overview' section of the site - see what the players and management have been getting involved with within the community.

Here are a few of the events that the Blaze have recently been involved with:

- Blaze hosted their 2nd annual Ladies Night dinner in aid of Cancer Research UK, raising over £3000 for Cancer Research in the process.

- The senior Blaze squad all brought a pound to work in aid of Mercia FM's Bring a Pound to Work day, with defenceman James Pease endorsing the day on behalf of the whole squad.

- Former Blaze captain Ashley Tait and Danny Stewart launched the 2007 Enterprise Club for Disabled People annual walk to raise money for one of Coventry & Warwickshire's most deserving charities in the area.

- In 2006/2007 Blaze have visited schools all over Coventry & Warwickshire as part of their outreach programmes in the community.

- Blaze are promoting literacy in the community with BBC's RaW campaign. Blaze Creative Writing sessions are taking place at Central Libriary, Coventry from 4-6 every Monday in the remainder of the 2006-2007 season and a Blaze player will be going along to a session to help those who want to enhance their writing skills.
