The Coventry Blaze has teamed up with Hays Education and Sport England to provide children in Coventry with an Ice Hockey Community Programme.

The Hays Education Community Programme is designed to reach out to children in Coventry schools and give them the opportunity to experience Ice Hockey.

The programme is being headed by Ex Blaze player James Pease and will involve coaching from members of the current Blaze squad. The programme will run in 10 schools at a time and will include a six-week, in-school program followed up with 3 weeks on the ice. The children will then have the opportunity to take part in the learn to skate programme and to ultimately join the Junior Blaze Academy.

The Community programme will also involve holding a leadership day course for children between 14-19 years old and will be the first of it’s kind.
