From time to time, live commentary of Blaze games is brought to
you by our official commentary partners, BBC Coventry & Warwickshire radio.
On the first Thursday of each month from 7pm to 8pm, the station also broadcasts a one hour ice hockey special called ‘Face Off’, focusing on the Blaze but also looking at the wider ice hockey scene.
The voice of the Blaze on the airwaves is more often than not, 52 year old Geoff Foster, the station’s longest serving sports presenter, who admits he is “very lucky to do the job I do”. As well as bringing the Blaze games to life, Geoff has delivered live commentary of all Coventry City games for as long as he can remember (he’s been a fan since 1963 when City beat Wrexham 3-0!), as well as numerous other sports including golf, rugby, cricket and speedway.
Geoff is also the official commentator for the Great Britain ice hockey team and his ice hockey experiences have seen him deliver play by play commentary of seven Blaze titles, three Elite League finals weekends, two Continental Cups in Denmark and France, two World Championships in Slovenia and Austria and a host of other regular season, play off and exhibition games. This season he is due to deliver his third World Championships from Poland, third Continental Cup from Italy and his first Olympic Qualifying tournament, also from Poland.

Alternatively, when broadcast on the radio, you can tune to 94.8, 103.7 or 104.0 FM. The station is also available on digital radio. |
