Boysen back for more

The DPD Coventry Blaze are pleased to announce that Danish forward William Boysen will return to the club for the 2026/27 Motorpoint Elite League season.

Boysen, 29, returns after an impressive first campaign in Coventry, registering 16 goals and 20 assists for 36 points in 63 Elite League appearances.

The Danish forward joined the Blaze last summer from SønderjyskE of the Danish Metal Ligaen, where he spent five seasons and helped the club lift the Danish Championship in 2023/24.

A product of the Rungsted academy, Boysen made his professional debut with Seier Capital, where he spent four seasons and helped the club win the Danish Cup in 2016/17. He later enjoyed a season with the Frederikshavn White Hawks before moving to SønderjyskE.

Across his career in the Danish Metal Ligaen, Boysen has amassed 416 appearances and 211 points, including 84 goals and 127 assists.

He also brings valuable playoff experience, having featured in 74 post-season games, recording 25 points (10 goals, 15 assists). His European experience includes appearances in editions of both the IIHF Continental Cup and Champions Hockey League.

On the international stage, Boysen represented Denmark at every major junior level before making his senior national-team debut during the 2019/20 season.

Blaze Head Coach Kevin Moore said, “We are extremely happy to welcome William back this season. He is someone who showed up in our biggest games and plays a strong 200-foot game with physicality and skill. He is also great in the locker room and will fit in really well with our current group.”

The Blaze will hit the ice at Skydome Arena this weekend as pre-season gets underway, with Boysen and his teammates facing Manchester Storm on Saturday, August 29 at 7pm, before welcoming Gothiques d’Amiens on Sunday, August 30 at 5.30pm.

With Boysen back in the fold, supporters will get their first opportunity to see the returning forward and the 2026/27 Blaze squad in action on home ice this weekend.
