  • Kevin moore

    Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations

    American Kevin Moore joined the Blaze as Head Coach ahead of the 2024/25 Elite League season, arriving from the Nottingham Panthers where he served as Assistant Coach. The Belle Mead, New Jersey native has also coached in the ECHL with the Indy Fuel, NCAA with Princeton University, College of St. Scholastica, and Adrian College, as well as with Team USA’s U18 side at the 2019 Hlinka Gretzky Cup.

    In his first season with the Blaze, Moore guided the team to 24 regular season wins (0.58 points percentage), five Challenge Cup victories, the league’s best powerplay (26.97%), and the second-ranked penalty kill (82.24%), earning praise from both players and supporters for an exciting, high-tempo style of hockey.

  • COLTYN BATES

    Assisstant Coach

    Canadian Coltyn Bates joined the Blaze in the summer of 2025 after three seasons in coaching and management with the Manitoba Junior Hockey League’s Winkler Flyers. 

    Originally from Brandon, Manitoba, Bates transitioned into coaching after a productive playing career. He recorded 145 points (47 goals, 98 assists) in 169 games at junior level before earning a scholarship to the University of Wisconsin–Superior (NCAA Division III).

    Over four seasons in the NCAA, he played 88 games, registering 47 points (20 goals, 27 assists), and helped his team win the NCAA III (WIAC) Championship in the 2020/21 season.

  • Nicky Sherlock

    Head Sports Rehabilitationist

    Nicky is the Head Physiotherapist for the Coventry Blaze and brings a wealth of experience in sports rehabilitation. She has worked with the team for many years and also serves as the Head Physiotherapist to the Great Britain ice hockey team, a position she has held for several years and has seen her take part in serveral World Championship and Olympic Qualification events. Nicky combines her Blaze role with running her own physiotherapy clinic, Elite Therapy.

  • John Balshaw

    Sports Therapist

    John is an expert sports therapist who keeps the Blaze players in the best possible condition to play Elite League hockey. John works with the players during the week and on game night ’ both at home and on the road.

  • amelia Weaver

    Team Doctor

    Amelia takes care of the club’s medical services and is present for each home game day. 

  • Ethan Kane

    Equipment Manager

    Ethan took over the role of Equipment Manager in 2019 from long-serving Steve Small. As well as looking after all the team’s equipment needs, Ethan is responsible for the team’s dressing room area and for managing the logisitics for all of the team’s away games.

  • Steve Small

    Assistant Equipment Manager

    ‘Semi’ retired now, Steve was the long-time Equipment Manager of the club before Ethan took over full-time in 2019/20. Steve continues to help out and works on the bench during games and practice in the week. 

  • Anthony Pountney

    Assistant Equipment Manager

    Anthony is a former player of the NIHL Coventry Blaze and now supports Ethan and Steve in delivering the players’ equipment needs.
