  • Kevin moore

    Head Coach

    American Kevin Moore was announced as the Coventry Blaze Head Coach ahead of the 2024/25 Elite League season. 

    Moore joined Blaze from the Nottingham Panthers where he spent a season as Assistant Coach.

    Prior to his move to Nottingham, the Belle Mead, N.J. native held the same role for the Indy Fuel of the ECHL, helping them to a Playoff place in the competitive Western Conference with a franchise record for wins and points.

    The former netminder also has extensive coaching experience in the NCAA and was Director of Hockey Operations for Princeton University Tigers in 2021/22.

    During the 2020/21 season, as Head Coach of College of St. Scholastica (NCAA III), Moore led the team to their first playoff win and semi-final appearance in five years.

    Moore also spent two seasons as the assistant coach at Adrian College, where he helped the team to a NCHA Regular Season title and Tournament championship in 2020.

    Additionally, in 2019 Moore was named assistant coach for Team USA’s U18 team in the Hlinka Gretzky Cup and for three years was part of the USA Hockey National Player Development selection camps.

  • Zach Vinnell 

    Assisstant Coach

    On the back of winning the Elite League Grand Slam with Sheffield Steelers in 2023/24, Zach opted to retire from playing to pursue a coaching opportunity in Coventry.

    Beginning the season with Glasgow Clan, the versatile Canadian moved to the Steelers in December, going on to play an important role in the club winning the league, Challenge Cup and Playoffs.

     A defenceman, who could also play a role as a forward, Vinnell turned professional with the ECHL’s Indy Fuel when Kevin Moore was Assistant Coach in 2022/23 and the pair built a positive connection.

    Vinnell’s NCAA career was spent mainly at Merrimack College (2019-2022) where he obtained a bachelor’s degree in business administration. He then moved on to Bowling Green State University (2022/23) where he achieved a master’s degree.


     
  • Nicky Sherlock

    Head Sports Rehabilitationist

    Nicky is the Head Physiotherapist for the Coventry Blaze and brings a wealth of experience in sports rehabilitation. She has worked with the team for many years and also serves as the Head Physiotherapist to the Great Britain ice hockey team, a position she has held for several years and has seen her take part in serveral World Championship and Olympic Qualification events. Nicky combines her Blaze role with running her own physiotherapy clinic, Elite Therapy.

  • John Balshaw

    Sports Therapist

    John is an expert sports therapist who keeps the Blaze players in the best possible condition to play Elite League hockey. John works with the players during the week and on game night ’ both at home and on the road.

  • Jen Waters

    Team Doctor

    Jen takes care of the club’s medical services and is present for each home game day. 

  • Ethan Kane

    Equipment Manager

    Ethan took over the role of Equipment Manager in 2019 from long-serving Steve Small. As well as looking after all the team’s equipment needs, Ethan is responsible for the team’s dressing room area and for managing the logisitics for all of the team’s away games.

  • Steve Small

    Assistant Equipment Manager

    ‘Semi’ retired now, Steve was the long-time Equipment Manager of the club before Ethan took over full-time in 2019/20. Steve continues to hep out and works on the bench during games and practice in the week. 

  • Anthony Pountney

    Assistant Equipment Manager

    Anthony is a former player of the NIHL Coventry Blaze and now supports Ethan and Steve in delivering the players’ equipment needs.
