The Genting Casino Coventry Blaze are pleased to announce the signing of American netminder Cam Gray for the 2024/25 Elite League season.
Gray, 27, completes a goalie group for the new season which also includes Canadian Mat Robson and Brit Will Bray.
Standing at 6’0”, Gray joins the club following two seasons in the ECHL with Indy Fuel, during which he also earned a try-out with the AHL’s Rockford IceHogs and spent time in the SPHL with Macon Mayhem.
Before turning professional, Gray was a stand-out at Adrian College (NCAA III) and led the Bulldogs to the program’s first National Championship in 2022.
In three seasons with Adrian, Gray posted a 53-9-2 record with a .912 save-percentage and 2.34 goals-against-average (GAA), including an undefeated season in 2021/22, going 23-0-0 with a .913 save-percentage and 2.23 GAA.
Head Coach Kevin Moore said: “Cam is someone who knows how to win games in a variety of ways. He is technically sound and extremely quick laterally. He comes in and out of his posts with ease, controlling the play in zone. Off the rush he understands gap control as good as anyone and can make the net seem small while the play comes at him.
“In the locker room Cam adds daily professionalism and attention to detail and will be a great addition to our team and goalie trio.”
Gray will wear #32 for Blaze over the 2024/25 Elite League season.
