The DPD Coventry Blaze can confirm that American forward Grant Mismash has undergone successful surgery following a lower-body injury sustained during the pre-season game against the Guildford Flames on 6 September.

Mismash is expected to begin skating again early in the new year, with the medical team targeting a return to action before the conclusion of the 2026/27 Motorpoint Elite League season.

A definitive timeline for his return to game play will be established once he progresses to full-contact training.

Head Coach Kevin Moore commented: “Losing a player of Grant’s calibre is a challenge for our line-up, but we will adopt an ‘every-man-up’ mentality while he is sidelined. Grant is a resilient competitor, and we know he will bring that same work ethic to his rehabilitation. We are pleased that he will not be out for the season, and in the meantime, we will support him in every way possible as he works his way back.”
