The Genting Casino Coventry Blaze are delighted to announce the signing of American defenceman Colton Saucerman for the 2025/26 Elite League season.
The 33-year-old right-shot blue-liner arrives in Coventry following two successful seasons with Elite League rivals Sheffield Steelers, where he played a pivotal role in their 2023/24 Grand Slam triumph. Over 128 Elite League games for the Steelers, Saucerman tallied an impressive 75 points (11 goals, 64 assists) and a standout +65 plus/minus rating.
Saucerman also featured in six Champions Hockey League games for Sheffield, contributing an assist during their eye-catching 2024 campaign.
No stranger to European hockey, the Colorado native brings further European experience to the Blaze, having suited up for HC Košice in Slovakia during the 2021/22 season and HC Innsbruck in Austria in 2020/21.
He was a key offensive contributor in both stints, recording 27 points (nine goals, 18 assists) in 63 games with Košice and 29 points (nine goals, 20 assists) in 41 appearances for Innsbruck.
In North America, Saucerman built a strong résumé across 317 ECHL games with the Allen Americans, Idaho Steelheads, Manchester Monarchs, and South Carolina Stingrays, amassing 172 points (32 goals, 140 assists). He also received 41 call-ups to the AHL, where he added nine points (one goal, eight assists) at the higher level.
Saucerman developed through the NCAA ranks with Northeastern University, where he registered 64 points (20 goals, 44 assists) across 140 games. His standout 2015/16 campaign saw him crowned a Hockey East Champion and named to the All-Tournament Team.

He brings a gritty, hard-nosed style of defending that we know our fans will appreciate. Colton’s leadership and character will also be invaluable in our locker room. Saucerman will wear #23 for Blaze during the 2025/26 Elite League season.
