The Genting Casino Coventry Blaze are delighted to announce the re-signing of Ukrainian forward Artem Buzoverya for the 2026/27 Elite League season.
Buzoverya iced in 55 games for the Blaze during the 2025/26 campaign, recording four goals and five assists across all Elite League competitions, while posting an impressive faceoff win percentage of over 50%.
The 26-year-old centreman joined the Blaze in 2025 following a season at Bentley University (NCAA), where he recorded 15 points (six goals, nine assists) in 32 games during the 2024/25 season. A dominant presence in the faceoff circle, the 6’3” forward led the Falcons with a 57.4% win rate, winning 206 draws as Bentley advanced to the Atlantic Hockey Association Championship.

His leadership and character were also recognised off the ice, as he was named co-recipient of Bentley’s prestigious Falcon Award, presented to the player who best exemplifies selflessness, dedication, and a team-first mentality.
Prior to Bentley, Buzoverya spent three successful seasons at Hobart College (NCAA III), where he totalled 70 points (20 goals, 50 assists) in 90 games. He played a key role in Hobart’s back-to-back NCAA III National Championship and NEHC Championship-winning teams in 2023 and 2024, serving as assistant captain in both seasons.
During the 2023/24 campaign, Buzoverya enjoyed a breakout year, earning selection to the AHCA All-America East Second Team, while also being named NEHC Player of the Year and Tournament MVP. He finished runner-up for the prestigious Sid Watson Award, presented annually to the top NCAA Division III player in the country. That season, he also posted an outstanding .631 faceoff win percentage while centring Hobart’s top line.

On the international stage, Buzoverya recently represented Ukraine at the IIHF Men’s World Championship Division IA tournament, helping his country secure a historic silver medal and promotion to the top division. He has also represented Ukraine at both U18 and U20 level in IIHF World Junior Championship Division IB competition.
Head Coach Kevin Moore said, “Artem is a great teammate and was one of the league’s best in the faceoff circle last season. Once healthy, he proved he could play a well-rounded 200-foot game and impact all three zones. We’re looking forward to having him back next season!”
