The Genting Casino Coventry Blaze have completed their 2024/25 Elite League roster with the signing of defenceman Terrance Amorosa.
Amorosa, 29, joins the club from Ritten/Renon who he helped win the Alps Hockey League Championship. Amorosa had 43 points (ten goals, 33 assists) in 43 games of the regular season and 12 points (two goals, 10 assists) during the glorious playoff run.
Amorosa’s performances earned international honours with Team Italy, who called him up for their recent World Championship Division 1A campaign.
Prior, the 6’2” dynamic blue-liner began his European career with Gherdëina of the Alps Hockey League where he amassed 36 points (five goals, 31 assists) in 24 games, also earning a loan spell to HC Bolzano of the ICEHL, the top-tier ice hockey league in Austria.
Amorosa appeared in nine regular season ICEHL games with three assists and played in one playoff game.
Before embarking on Europe, Amorosa was drafted by the NHL’s Philadelphia Flyers in the 2013 entry draft (round 5, #132 overall) and went on to spend four seasons split between the AHL and ECHL, notably with Laval Rocket and Kansas City Mavericks.
At the AHL level, the 6’2” left shooter contributed 14 points (two goals, 12 assists) in 40 games while in the ECHL he had 37 points (eight goals, 29 assists) in 81 regular season and playoff games.
Amorosa’s college career was spent at Clarkson University where in 115 games he scored 15 goals, 49 assist for 64 points, catching the attention of NHL scouts.
Head Coach Kevin Moore said, “Terrance is a skilled puck moving defender with great vision. His ability to make reads and thread the needle will be valuable for our offense. Defensively he has good habits and competes hard which will aid in our team exits. I am extremely excited to welcome Terrance to the Blaze.”
Terrance Amorosa will wear #7 for the Blaze over the 2024/25 Elite League season.
