Kids Planet x Blaze Easter Egg Collection

The Genting Casino Coventry Blaze have partnered with Kids Planet Day Nurseries to host a special Easter egg collection, helping spread some Easter cheer across the local community.

The collection will take place during the Blaze’s home fixture against the Cardiff Devils at the Skydome Arena on Sunday 29th March, with donated Easter eggs going to patients at University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire NHS Trust.

The heartwarming initiative was inspired by children at Kids Planet Henley 2, who began discussing Easter after noticing chocolate eggs appearing in shops.

During the conversation, the children reflected on how some people might not receive an Easter egg. Wanting to help, they decided to organise an Easter egg donation for patients in hospital, showing how small acts of kindness can make a big difference.

Working in partnership with UHCW Charity, the nursery will deliver the donated eggs to patients at University Hospital Coventry and Warwickshire ahead of the Easter weekend.

How Fans Can Get Involved

Supporters attending the Blaze game are encouraged to bring along an Easter egg to donate at the Skydome Arena.

Children and staff from Kids Planet will be positioned at the FanHub end of the arena before face-off and during the period breaks collecting donations from fans.

To help make an even bigger impact, Kids Planet Day Nurseries have pledged to match every Easter egg donated, doubling the number of eggs that can be delivered to hospital patients.

A Special Experience for the Children

Sophie Lunn, Nursery Manager at Kids Planet Henley 2, said: “This project began with a simple conversation with the children about Easter and quickly developed into a wonderful opportunity for them to think about others within their community. It has been incredible to see their enthusiasm for helping people who may be going through a difficult time.

We would like to say a huge thank you to Coventry Blaze for supporting this initiative and providing such a special opportunity for the children to be involved.”
