The 2024/25 Elite League regular season came to a thrilling conclusion on Sunday, with late drama deciding the league title.
The Genting Casino Coventry Blaze edged out the Sheffield Steelers 4-3, while the Belfast Giants secured a crucial overtime win against the Nottingham Panthers. With those results, the Giants were crowned Elite League Champions, claiming their second trophy of the season following their Challenge Cup triumph over the Cardiff Devils.

Chase Gresock was the hero for Coventry, netting the game-winner—his 32nd goal of the season—which saw him finish as the league’s joint top scorer, alongside Manchester Storm’s Alexis D’Aoust. Mike Regush assisted on the decisive goal and ended the campaign as the league’s top playmaker with 39 assists.

Gresock was joined in the league’s top five point scorers by teammates Nick Seitz and Alessio Luciani, underlining the Blaze’s offensive firepower.

Coventry finished the regular season in fifth place and will face the Cardiff Devils in the Elite League Playoff Quarter-Finals.
