The DPD Coventry Blaze are proud to be part of a brand-new league-wide initiative, Ice Hockey Fights Cancer, as the Motorpoint Elite League brings all ten clubs together this November to raise awareness of cancer and support those affected by the disease.
Running from 13-22 November 2026, Ice Hockey Fights Cancer will see every Motorpoint Elite League club dedicate a home fixture to the campaign, with players taking to the ice in specially designed jerseys. Each club will also partner with a local charity, shining a spotlight on the invaluable work being carried out to support individuals and families affected by cancer within their communities.
Coventry Blaze will host its dedicated Ice Hockey Fights Cancer fixture on:
Saturday 21 November 2026
Coventry Blaze vs Sheffield Steelers
Skydome Arena
The evening will provide an opportunity for the Blaze and its supporters to come together for an important cause, helping to raise awareness, celebrate the work of local cancer support organisations and show solidarity with everyone whose lives have been touched by cancer.
Head of Hockey Operations Liam Sewell said:
"This is something close to a lot of people's hearts, including my own. Across teams and across fanbases, everybody knows someone who has been affected by cancer. It's something that goes far beyond ice hockey.
"Every club has a strong connection with its local community, and by working with local charities, we hope we can help raise awareness of the incredible work they do and make a positive difference."
While individual clubs regularly support charitable causes within their own communities, Ice Hockey Fights Cancer offers a special opportunity for the entire Motorpoint Elite League to unite behind one shared cause.
Further details of Coventry Blaze's chosen charity partner, specially designed jerseys and fundraising activities for the evening will be announced in due course.
Together, we stand united. Together, we fight cancer.
