Stridsberg placed on long-term IR

The Genting Casino Coventry Blaze regret to share the news that Swedish defenceman Jakob Stridsberg has been placed on long-term injured-reserve due to injury sustained against the Dundee Stars on 26th January.

Stridsberg, who will soon undergo surgery, has played 42 times this season, his first in the Elite League, averaging 23.04 minutes of time on ice.

With 23 points (4 goals, 19 assists), the 30-year-old has been a crucial part of the Blaze blue-line and special teams.

We wish Jakob all the very best in his recovery.

Head Coach Kevin Moore said, “Losing Jakob is definitely a blow, he has been as consistent as any defenceman in our league. He is a special person and as he rehabs, we will keep him involved with our group so that he can continue to bring us energy and be a part of this phase of the season.”
