The Genting Casino Coventry Blaze avenged a home defeat to Dundee Stars on Saturday by travelling to Scotland and beating the same opposition 2-5 on Sunday night.
As per all Elite League games this weekend, the evening began with a touching tribute to Adam Johnson with both teams paying their respects to the American who sadly lost his life last weekend.
Blaze’s top goal-scorer Kobe Roth scored his seventh in seven Elite League games on the powerplay at 14.54 which was the only goal of a tight first period.
Coventry put their foot down in the second and scored twice within ten minutes through Danny Kristo (23.58) and Alessio Luciani (32.23).
Brendan Harms gave the Stars hope at 40.23 with a strike on the man advantage but Blaze responded quickly through Ian McNulty on 51.39 which all but sealed the points for the visitors.
Harms netted again with six minutes to play, but Kristo rounded off the Blaze’s road win into the empty net with 95 seconds remaining.
The goal was Kristo’s third point of the night and takes him to the top of the league’s point-scoring charts with 13 in seven games. Roth leads all players for goals and is second to Kristo for points with 11.
Blaze netminder Taran Kozun was awarded the man of the match after making 36 saves.
