The Genting Casino Coventry Blaze are delighted to announce the signing of Ukrainian forward Artem “Artie” Buzoverya for the 2025/26 Elite League season.
The 25-year-old centreman joins the Blaze from Bentley University (NCAA), where he recorded 15 points (six goals, nine assists) in 32 games last season. A standout in the faceoff circle, the 6’3” forward led the Falcons with a 57.4% winning percentage, securing 206 draws – a key factor in Bentley’s successful run to the 2024/25 Atlantic Hockey Association (AHA) Championship.
Buzoverya’s leadership and character were also recognised off the scoresheet, as he was named co-recipient of Bentley’s prestigious Falcon Award, given to the player who best exemplifies selflessness, dedication, and being a team-first presence.
Prior to Bentley, Buzoverya played three standout seasons with Hobart College (NCAA III), where he totalled 70 points (20 goals, 50 assists) in 90 games. He was instrumental in Hobart’s back-to-back NCAA III National and NEHC Championships (2023 & 2024), serving as assistant captain in both title-winning years.
In 2023/24, he enjoyed a breakout campaign, being named to the AHCA All-America East Second Team, NEHC Player of the Year, and Tournament MVP. He also finished runner-up for the prestigious Sid Watson Award, presented annually to the top NCAA Division III player in the country. That same year, he posted a faceoff win rate of .631 while centring Hobart’s top line.
On the international stage, Artie has represented Ukraine at the U18 and U20 levels in IIHF World Junior Division 1B competition.
Head Coach Kevin Moore said, “Artem is a big, strong presence on the ice who plays a smart, heavy game. He protects the puck exceptionally well and makes plays under pressure. He’s responsible in all three zones and defends hard down low, which will make him a key piece in our structure. We’re looking forward to the impact he’ll have on both ends of the ice this season.”
Buzoverya will wear #28 for the 2025/26 Elite League season.
