Genting Casino Coventry Blaze forward Mike Pelech will reach a major career milestone on Saturday, playing his 1,000th professional regular season game when the Blaze host the Nottingham Panthers at the Skydome Arena (7pm face-off).
The 36-year-old Canadian, originally drafted by the Los Angeles Kings in 2009, is currently in his 17th professional season.
Pelech is the all-time leader for regular season games played in the ECHL, with 884 appearances, and also has 35 games in the AHL to his name.
After a long and successful career in North America, he moved to Europe, spending time with Elite League rivals Glasgow Clan, in Hungary, and now proudly wearing the Blaze colours here in Coventry.
