A sluggish start proved costly for the Genting Casino Coventry Blaze as they fell 4-1 to the Glasgow Clan in Elite League action on Sunday in Scotland.
Glasgow struck early, opening the scoring at 3.27 when Jason Fram finished off a precise cross-slot feed from Brett Neumann. Just over two minutes later, Tristin Langan doubled the Clan lead, cutting in on the same wing to bury a Joe Hazeldine pass past Dershahn Stewart.
The hosts extended their advantage at 16.44 on a well-executed rush, with Coventry-born forward Austin Mitchell-King redirecting a Steven Seigo feed for his first professional goal. Rylan Schwartz capped a dominant first period for Glasgow, making it 4-0 with a strike 55 seconds before the intermission.

Coventry responded early in the middle frame, as Artem Buzoverya netted his first professional goal at 22.05. However, it would prove to be the Blaze’s only breakthrough of the night.

A quieter third period followed, with no further scoring and just one minor penalty in an otherwise low-incident game.
The Clan claimed the two points, while the Blaze will look to re-group ahead of Saturday’s home clash against the Dundee Stars at the Skydome Arena (7pm).
