The Genting Casino Coventry Blaze are pleased to announce the signing of American defenceman Carson Musser for the 2026/27 Elite League season.
Musser, 29, joins the Blaze after four seasons with the ECHL’s Norfolk Admirals, where he made 224 regular season appearances, recording 88 points (21 goals, 67 assists). He also featured in 22 playoff games, adding nine points (three goals, six assists).
A hard-nosed blueliner and team leader in blocked shots, Musser captained the Admirals and established himself as a firm fan favourite throughout his time in Norfolk.
During a five-year collegiate career, the 6-foot-1 Musser played 135 games across spells with Bowling Green State University and Long Island University. A respected leader and strong performer both on and off the ice, he earned WCHA Scholar-Athlete and WCHA All-Academic Team honours in three consecutive seasons while at Bowling Green. In his final season at Long Island, he served as an assistant captain and finished among the team’s top 10 scorers with 11 points (four goals, seven assists).
Musser began his professional career with Norfolk at the conclusion of the 2021/22 season and remained with the Admirals throughout the entirety of his career to date. Ahead of the 2024/25 season, he also received an invitation to training camp with the AHL’s Manitoba Moose.
Head Coach Kevin Moore said, “We are excited to welcome Carson Musser to the Blaze. He plays hard, has good gaps, and uses his mobility on the blue-line to get shots through. Carson also brings leadership and experience to our room and will be a great addition to our culture.”
