The Coventry Blaze are delighted to announce the signing of Great Britain international Brett Perlini for the 2026/27 Motorpoint Elite League season.
Perlini, 36, has spent the past two seasons with the Cardiff Devils, where he played an important role in helping the Welsh side lift the Continental Cup in 2024/25 before claiming the Elite League Playoff title in 2025/26.
Across 127 appearances in all Motorpoint Elite League competitions for the Devils, the experienced forward recorded an impressive 81 points (33 goals, 48 assists). He also starred during Cardiff’s Continental Cup-winning campaign, scoring five points (four goals, one assist), including a hat-trick in the Final.
Selected by the Anaheim Ducks in the seventh round of the 2010 NHL Entry Draft, Perlini brings a wealth of experience from across Europe, having also played for Saale Bulls Halle in Germany, Herning Blue Fox in Denmark, Pustertal/Val Pusteria in the AlpsHL, and Ringerike in Norway between 2020 and 2024.
Prior to his spell overseas, Perlini spent three seasons with Elite League rivals the Nottingham Panthers from 2017 to 2020, where he was a consistent offensive contributor and won an Elite Series title.
His professional career has also included spells with six different teams in the ECHL.
Perlini began his hockey career in England before moving to Canada to continue his development. He went on to play NCAA hockey at Michigan State University, laying the foundations for a professional career that has now spanned more than a decade.
On the international stage, Perlini has been a regular for Great Britain, competing at the IIHF World Championship and winning three Division IA gold medals. He was also named the tournament’s Most Valuable Player during Great Britain’s memorable promotion-winning campaign in 2018.
