The Coventry Blaze held an emotional tribute to Assistant Coach Dayle ‘Keeno’ Keen ahead of the first home game since his sad passing.
Chairman Andy Buxton led the tribute saying: “His sudden passing has left a considerable void in our organisation which will take some time to come to terms with. As we have seen from the incredible amount of direct and social media messages, the floral tributes and the moments of remembrance and tributes at games across the UK, the respect and love for Keeno is universal throughout the whole hockey family, and no where more so than here in Coventry – his adopted club.”

Andy’s beautifully read words were followed by a minute’s silence and a minute’s applause and the Flower of Scotland was played instead of God Saved the King, in honour of the Scot born in Irvine where his funeral will take place on Wednesday 20th March.

Donate to support Keeno’s family
We would like to ask the hockey community for their support in raising funds to help the family cover the funeral and other costs related to Keeno’s death.
GoFundeMe page has been set up and all donations are and will be massively appreciated.
Thanks to the Blaze Academy
Thank you to the Blaze Academy who helped us with the bucket collection during Wednesday’s game.
£1,160 was raised for the family and we say a HUGE thanks to everyone for their generosity.
